The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.

Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.

This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.

What Defines the Combat Party

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.

Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

First, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each character has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
  • The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a hostile location.
  • The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the party access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in search of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

From episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Questers and Strategists parties.

Viewers can anticipate discovering which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
